When you call in to make your appointment with one of our board certified Internal Medicine doctors, you will be talking with one of our Client Care Coordinators. We will gather all of your information, and ask you for a synopsis of your concerns.

  • Following your call and with your permission, the Client Care Coordinator will call your primary care veterinarian and ask for all medical records and x-rays sent over for your appointment.

Internal Medicine consultations are weekday mornings, Monday through Friday from 9am-12pm. Emergency appointments are scheduled on an as needed basis.

Please fast your pet in preparation for this appointment. In many cases procedures can be completed the same day and fasting helps to prepare your pet.

  • No food after midnight the night before
  • Free choice water is OK

On the day of your appointment, please arrive 15 minutes early to complete paperwork. If it’s more convenient, you can fill out our form ahead of time by clicking here link to form. Please print a copy and bring with you to your appointment.

Many procedures are typically performed on an outpatient (same day) basis.  The day of your appointment, you should plan to spend approximately one hour at CARE with your pet to meet with our technicians and specialist. At this time, the specialist will develop a diagnostic and treatment plan. Patients admitted to the hospital will receive a plan that includes the length of stay.

  • The diagnostic and treatment plan will outline the recommended diagnostic testing and treatments. This treatment plan includes a cost estimate. As some cases are complex, a stepwise plan may be discussed.

Once you have received your treatment plan it is our policy at Care Veterinary Center to collect a deposit for the services.

  • CARE accepts cash, check through global payment systems or Visa, Mastercard Discover or American Express. For your convenience, we also offer CARE Credit, which offers several repayment terms, some of which are interest free. You can apply online at carecredit.com or ask one of our client care specialists for assistance.

The Doctor will call you after your pet’s procedure with initial results and additional plans for treatment if necessary.
