CARE Veterinary Center Welcomes New Emergency Room Department Head, Dr. Michael Owen

June 11, 2018, Frederick, Md. - CARE Veterinary Center, an award-winning specialty and emergency animal hospital, is pleased to announce the addition of our new Emergency Room Department Head, Dr. Michael Owen. Dr. Owen’s diverse background is a welcomed addition to CARE’s Emergency Department. Dr. Owen has over 10 years of small animal experience and was previously Chief of Staff at Fields Road Animal Hospital.

Dr. Owen graduated Magna Cum Laude and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed his small animal internship at Auburn University. Dr. Owen's professional interests include critical care, internal medicine and surgery. Dr. Owen is a member of the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association and is federally accredited with the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.

Dr. Michael Owen joins a team of board-certified specialists, experienced veterinarians, and dedicated support personnel providing advanced and emergency services with exceptional, compassionate care for companion animals in the tri-state area, including Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
